The foreign ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Turkey will hold a meeting tomorrow, Sunday, and Monday in Islamabad to discuss the war in the Middle East, the Pakistani government announced today.

The foreign ministers of these countries, at the invitation of Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, will meet “in Islamabad on March 29 and 30” to have “in-depth talks on a range of issues, including efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the region,” a statement issued by the Pakistani Foreign Office said.

They are also expected to meet Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan had already mentioned the possibility of holding such a summit yesterday, Friday. “Initially, we foresaw that this meeting would be held in Turkey (…) between Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. However, as our Pakistani counterparts were obliged to stay in their country, we moved the meeting to Pakistan. It is likely that we will meet this weekend,” Hakan Fidan told private television station A Haber yesterday.
