The Ministry of Rural Development and Food is taking yet another significant step to support producers who have been confronted with the consequences of extreme natural phenomena.

With the publication of five Joint Ministerial Decisions in the Government Gazette, another significant round of state aid to producers affected by the major fires and floods of 2023 and 2024 has been completed.

As stated in a related announcement, these decisions constitute the final stage of the settlement process for support aimed at restoring damage to plant capital, following the advance payments and initial aid that had already been granted to beneficiaries.

In detail:

– €35 million for the September 2023 floods (Daniel and Elias),

– €16 million for the 2024 wildfires in affected areas of the country,

– 14 million euros for the major fires of 2023 in Evros, Rhodes, Attica, Achaea, Euboea, Corfu, Corinthia, Magnesia, and other regions,

– 1.5 million euros for the 2023 fires in Fthiotida and Kavala, as well as

– 650,000 euros for the fires during July–August 2023 in Attica, Boeotia, Fthiotida, and Magnesia.

The total amount of aid activated through these decisions exceeds 67 million euros, with the funds coming from the Special Natural Disasters Program of the Public Investment Development Program.

The aid will be paid through ELGA, based on the findings and procedures provided for in the institutional framework of the aforementioned decisions.
