Olympiacos missed many chances against AEL Novibet and thanks to a tremendous performance by Venetikidis, the team was held to a scoreless draw and missed the chance to leave PAOK in third place and alone in first place with AEK.

Olympiacos started the game very strongly and came close to scoring with Zelson Martins at 6 minutes, after a mistake in AEL’s defense, but the Portuguese was beaten by Venetikidis and the score remained scoreless.
The Piraeus side pressed throughout the first half, but could not find a chance. On 37 minutes, Cicinho tried a shot from the wide area with the ball going over the top.
Sipioni had a good chance to put Olympiacos ahead on 43 minutes after a nice move by Podense, but his finish ran into defenders and ended up in a corner, from which Biancon threatened with a weak header, but Venetikidis blocked it and the half ended 0-0.
Taremi missed a great chance on 56 minutes after a superb break from Cicinho, but Venetikidis opened his legs and effectively cleared the danger.
AEL Novibet made their first chance at the “G. Karaiskakis” on 60 minutes with Macon taking the ball from Toupta, but Tzolakis made a great intervention to keep the Olympiacos goal intact.
As the game progressed, Pontaine came close to a “poem” goal, but Venetikidis again said “no” to “G. Karaiskakis”.
