Marios Fragoulis, who passed away a few days ago, spoke about Marinella on the show “To ‘hume”.
“Marinella for all of us was a real mother, who protected us, loved us and wanted to show us new ways,” Marios Fragoulis said initially.
Marios Fragoulis then said.
He would say to me, “I want to stand on your level too, Mario. So that we can go out and sing these duets, ‘Time to say goodbye’, ‘Con te partiro’.” And I loved her humanity!
And until that unfortunate event at the Herodion, I was there at that moment. And you could see a packed Herodium, clapping, standing up on their feet before the programme even started to sing. That’s why we were shocked when that happened with Marinella.
I believe that somehow she chose her ending to be on stage. She even mentioned it to me at one point, because I had told her she had tremendous energy and she said “as long as what’s in my throat can hear me, I’ll hear it”. And if it happens to me, it has to happen to me on stage, it can’t happen to me anywhere else.”
