The Lebanese health ministry says 1,142 people have been killed by Israeli strikes and ground operations. Among them are 122 children, 83 women and 42 doctors, nurses and paramedics. The ministry does not distinguish between civilians and combatants.
Earlier today the Israeli army said a soldier and an officer were seriously wounded overnight during operations in Lebanon. In total, four Israeli soldiers have been killed in fighting in southern Lebanon.
