More than 400 Hezbollah fighters have been killed since the Shiite armed group unleashed the first volley in its new war with Israel on March 2, two sources with knowledge of the account told Reuters.
The figure is the first overall tally of casualties among Hezbollah fighters in Israel’s air and ground operation in Lebanon. The group has so far made sporadic announcements about individual casualties.
During the 2023-24 war, Hezbollah made daily announcements about each of its fighters killed and, after the ceasefire, reported a total of about 5 killed.000.

The Israeli army has announced a heavier casualty toll for Hezbollah. This week it said it killed at least 700 of its fighters in Lebanon, including hundreds of members of the Radwan Force, the group’s special forces.
The Lebanese health ministry says 1,142 people have been killed by Israeli strikes and ground operations. Among them are 122 children, 83 women and 42 doctors, nurses and paramedics. The ministry does not distinguish between civilians and combatants.
Earlier today the Israeli army said a soldier and an officer were seriously wounded overnight during operations in Lebanon. In total, four Israeli soldiers have been killed in fighting in southern Lebanon.
