One person was killed and several others injured in Kuwait in early morning attacks launched by Iran against several civilian infrastructures, the country’s Foreign Ministry said.

The attack targeted “civilian and vital infrastructure, notably Kuwait International Airport, causing one dead and injured as well as property damage to critical infrastructure, including diplomatic missions,” the ministry said, which condemned “the Iranian attack”.

“The security of the Kuwaiti state, its sovereignty and the safety of its citizens and residents are a red line,”

The Foreign Ministry’s statement did not specify which diplomatic missions were damaged.

Meanwhile, Kuwaiti authorities noted that the international airport is partially reopening after an Iranian attack that targeted one of its terminals.

Kuwait Airways flights have resumed “after the technical teams and relevant authorities completed the damage assessment and took the necessary measures to guarantee the safety of the operation” of the airport, the Civil Aviation Authority pointed out in X.

Earlier, the same source said the Iranian attack had caused “severe damage” to the airport’s Terminal 1 building.

Due to the attack, the Civil Aviation Service had temporarily suspended air traffic and flights were diverted to other airports, the official Kuwaiti news agency Kuna reported.
