The Israeli army will occupy a zone in southern Lebanon stretching from the Israeli border to the Litani River, 30 kilometers deep, for its security, Defense Minister Israel Kats announced.

Israeli forces are “maneuvering inside Lebanese territory to occupy an advanced defense zone,” Katz says in a video released by his office.

“The five bridges on Litani that served Hezbollah to move terrorists and weapons have been destroyed and the army will control the remaining bridges and the security zone up to Litani.”

“The hundreds of thousands of residents of southern Lebanon have been evacuated northwards and will not return south of Litani as long as the safety of the residents of northern Israel is not guaranteed,” the Israeli Defence Minister said.
