Around a hundred protesters held a sit-in at Pisa station late last Thursday night.
According to Corriere della Sera, the aim of the mobilisation, which lasted more than four hours, was to prevent the passage of a train which was reportedly carrying military vehicles, jeeps and tanks to be sent to war zones. Police and carabinieri forces were present at the station, without any kind of tension.
Due to the protest, significant delays were recorded on all rail links. After 11 (Italian time), the train in question departed from Pisa station returning to northern Italy.
