The export of Iraqi oil from the Kirkuk pipeline to Turkey’s Ceyhan port began today, Iraqi Oil Minister Hayan Abdel Yani announced.

The pipeline will initially carry 170,000 barrels per day, which will gradually increase to 250,000 BPD, he added.

The Iraqi government and the government of Iraqi Kurdistan reached an agreement on Tuesday to resume oil exports to Turkey.

Today, the state oil company SOMO signed agreements with international transporters and buyers to export crude through Turkey, Jordan and Syria, the Iraqi state news agency reported.
