Iranian President Massoud Pezzekian warned today that strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure could lead to “uncontrollable consequences” in the wake of the attack on the South Pars gas field, which Tehran blames on the US and Israel.
“This could complicate the situation and lead to uncontrollable consequences, the extent of which could affect the entire world,” Pezesqian said in a post on the X platform, adding that such strikes would not be of the slightest benefit to Iran’s enemies.
For his part, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bayr Galibaf stressed that strikes on energy facilities would bring “retaliation” and lead to a “new level of confrontation.”
