Iran’s Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian armed forces threaten the United States with a military response if the US naval blockade of Iranian ports continues, denouncing acts of “piracy.”
“If the U.S. military forces continue the blockade and persist in acts of robbery and piracy in the region, they should know that they are exposed to a response from the powerful Iranian armed forces,” the Iranian armed forces headquarters said, Iran’s state television reported.
“We are ready and determined and are monitoring the actions and moves of our enemies.”
At the same time in Islamabad, a Pakistani source said Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi handed over Tehran’s negotiating positions to Pakistani officials and expressed Iranian reservations over US demands during his visit to Pakistan.
