Iran has not yet decided whether to join the Islamabad talks announced by Donald Trump aimed at achieving a definitive end to the war in the Middle East, according to Iranian media reports that cite the lifting of the US naval blockade as a precondition.
Fars and Tasnim, citing unnamed sources, Iran has yet to make a decision. The official news agency IRNA, for its part, says there is “no clear prospect of fruitful negotiations”, citing, in addition to the blockade, Washington’s “unreasonable demands”.
