The assurance that those affected by the strong earthquake of magnitude 5.3, which occurred on March 8 in Epirus, will be compensated for 100% of the damage suffered by their homes, stressed in statements from Ioannina the Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Kostas Katsafados.

Mr. Katsafados had a meeting this morning at the Epirus region with regional governor Alexandros Kachrimanis and the mayors of Souliou, Zitsa and Dodoni, where there is damage and problems from the earthquake.

In response to a question about the restoration of historic temples that were affected by the earthquake, Costas Katsafados said that a contract will be signed between the region and the Ministry of Culture for the restoration of the temples – monuments with funding from the Ministry of Civil Protection.

Already in Epirus, crews of the General Secretariat for Natural Disaster Rehabilitation are carrying out secondary checks, after which a joint ministerial decision will be issued to delimit the area and every citizen who was affected will apply for compensation for 100% of the damage.
