Jonathan Adic, the eldest son of Mango founder Isaac Adic, who was killed in December 2024 after falling off cliffs while hiking near Barcelona, was arrested today as part of a month-long investigation by Catalan police.
The businessman’s son had pleaded not guilty throughout the police investigation, which began with the accident case and quickly turned to the possibility of manslaughter.
Jonathan was alone with his father on December 14, 2024, when the 71-year-old fell while hiking on the Montserrat Caves trail in the Barcelona area. His death was initially attributed to an accident.
But his testimony was not convincing, instead fuelling suspicions. Jonathan Adic fell into contradictions, left blurred areas and described events that did not match the findings of the Catalan police, according to Spanish press reports. This, coupled with the testimony of Estephania Knut, a professional golfer and partner of Isak Adic, who said that “relations between father and son were bad.”
Born in Istanbul, Isak Adic moved to Barcelona at the age of 14. He founded one of the largest prêt-a-porter groups with 2,800 stores around the world. His death shocked the business world.
