The decision to set up the Working Group for the preparation of the new Accession Treaty is an important milestone,” said European Council President Antonio Costa in a message to the “X” platform.
The EU today approved the establishment of a Task Force to prepare Montenegro’s Accession Treaty. The move sends a clear signal that EU membership is achievable, while Cyprus, which holds the six-month Presidency of the EU Council, says the issue is a priority for it and stresses in a message on the “X” platform that “we remain committed to supporting #Montenegrovia on its path towards full EU membership.”
