Harris Varthakouris was in the arms of Fanis, last Friday night, in order to talk about everything with Fanis Lambropoulos on the SKAI programme.

In fact, among other things, the well-known singer spoke about his brother Good Job Nicky’s attempt to get to Eurovision 2026 who was, however, defeated by Akilas in the national final.

More specifically, Haris Varthakouris first confided that “when my brother had sent me ‘Dark side of the moon’, I had told him that it was a very nice song for the album but I didn’t agree for Eurovision. From the result it turned out that while it’s a very nice song and a great production, it was an unfortunate choice because it’s very difficult to perform it live. It’s a very difficult song to perform live.”

“I sat down to listen to all the songs this year, but I didn’t listen to the first semi-final because I didn’t realise there were two semi-finals and I listened straight through to the second semi-final. I’m commenting on something in X and suddenly I see a downward slide from Dog and I’m like “who’s Dog?”. When I saw my brother, I wrote “I’m buying a ticket to Vienna”. Type that that’s who we are, we ripped it up, it was still playback, of course.”

“So I’ve been listening to what Akylas is and I’m thinking it’s not Nicola’s year. I said to myself that this (Ferto) is a very, very clever song. My brother’s production was clearly the best, for my aesthetics and for my ears, it was comparable to that of the outside world but, seeing the madness that this lad puts out, I said a big ouch,” admitted Haris Varthakouris on the alternative late night with Fani Lampropoulos on SKAI.

“I didn’t tell Nicolas, I had hope for him but a huge fear that it won’t be his year this year.”
