Viral, a groom from Xanthi, got locked in the elevator of his parents’ house on his wedding day.
As a result, his arrival at the church was delayed, and the bride waited for him without knowing what had happened.
The incident occurred when Dimitris and five of his friends got into the elevator together, which, as he claims in an interview with Mega, “said it could hold eight people.”
“So the six of us got in, and as we were going down to the ground floor, the elevator got stuck and we were trapped inside,” he said.
The Fire Department was called to the scene and carried out a rescue operation. “They called the Fire Department from outside. I didn’t have a signal on my cell phone. Bless the people who arrived so quickly,” said the groom.
The bride, whose name is [redacted], said that at first she didn’t believe his explanation: “I was waiting with the best man on a street behind the church. I kept saying he must have been drinking and fallen somewhere, and that the wedding wouldn’t happen. I didn’t believe him. How could I believe him? That elevator had never gotten stuck before.”
