A Ryanair flight departing from Marne airport in France for Morocco took off without passengers due to a lack of security staff.
The 192 travellers were unable to board as security staff were missing for the necessary checks, which caused the scheduled flight to be diverted, according to Le Figaro Societe.

Take-off without passengers – Lack of security staff
According to the airport authorities, a large number of the “Sécurus” staff were absent due to illness, and as a result, they could not be replaced. As a result, the plane, which was scheduled to fly for three and a half hours, departed empty.
The airport management claims it was taken by surprise:
“When passenger check-in opened, there was no security team. We learned that everyone was on sick leave,” Fabrice Pochet, the director of Vatri airport, told ICI Grand Est. He added that, according to the Sécurus group headquarters, it was impossible to send another team to ensure the flight’s timely departure.

According to the director, passenger compensation is not the responsibility of the airport. “If costs are incurred, they are passed on to the operator, who in turn passes them on to their service provider who failed to fulfil their obligations,” he explained to ICI.
Ryanair says there is no obligation to pay compensation, while passengers complain of a lack of liability and are seeking solutions to their problem.
