Today at noon, the 41-year-old man who confessed to killing his 39-year-old wife while their two minor children were sleeping next door will appear before the Kalamata Prosecutor’s Office.

What surprised authorities is that the two little girls, ages 6 and 10, were still asleep when police officers entered the apartment and didn’t realize what had happened.

Since the commotion was intensified by their mother’s cries for help, neighbours’ shouts and banging on the door of the house, a toxicology test is to be carried out on the two children, as the possibility that they had been given a substance to keep them from waking up cannot be ruled out.

For now, they remain in hospital for tests and protective custody, and are under constant observation by a child psychologist.
