A new round of testimony begins today, June 15, 2026, regarding the double murder in Aigio, whose victims were a 54-year-old woman and her 26-year-old son. The case, which has shocked the local community, remains the focus of the investigation, as authorities examine serious contradictions in the testimonies.
The woman’s Italian partner, who has been remanded in custody in connection with the case, continues to maintain his innocence. Investigators are expected to summon his friend and neighbor again for questioning, who was the first person he turned to after the tragic events were discovered at the family’s home in Loggos, Aegialia.
The 65-year-old Italian, accused of double homicide, claims that he found the two victims dead and, in a state of shock, notified his friend. This claim is being investigated by the authorities, based in part on telephone records.
However, the exact time at which he realized the woman and her son were dead remains unclear, as he is reported to have changed the time of his statement twice. Police authorities believe he may have provided inaccurate information in an attempt to create confusion regarding the events and to remove incriminating evidence from the scene.
Hellenic Police spokesperson Konstantia Dimoglou told MEGA that evidence of possible tampering at the crime scene has been found, a fact that reinforces the possibility that the scene was altered before the authorities arrived.
According to the evidence so far, the defendant allegedly had at least six hours to clean the house. The victims lost their lives early in the morning of Tuesday, June 9, 2026, while authorities were notified around 12:00 p.m.
