A former deputy mayor of Heraklion, Crete is accused of killing a small kitten by banging it against a wall.
Video has captured the 77-year-old man holding a bag with the kitten and hitting it three times against a wall, according to a report by Live News.
He claims in his statement that he found the kitten dead in the yard of his apartment building and took it to throw it in the trash. In fact, he reportedly claims the video is where he attempted to dump it in the first place.

Eyewitnesses to the scene denounced the former mayor, resulting in his immediate arrest and felony charges.
The 77-year-old was released on parole after his plea and a trial date is expected to be set.
