The authorities were alerted by a truck driver in Heraklion when he was robbed on the BOAK this Tuesday morning (10.03.2026).

From the descriptions and evidence given, the perpetrators allegedly set him up in the area of Karteros in Heraklion and fled with thousands of euros in loot.

The victim was travelling with his truck from Heraklion to Ierapetra to transport animal feed and was carrying a significant amount of money, according to information from patris.gr. The two people who were in a vehicle, knew the route of the complainant and in the area of Karteros they set up a trap for him.

The victim told police that a farm car blocked his way and a man wearing a hood to cover his facial features came through the driver’s window with a gun pointed out.

The second offender smashed the passenger door window and demanded a paper sealed box with a large sum of money inside.

Then – always according to the complaint which is being investigated with great care by the National Police. – the perpetrators entered the agricultural vehicle driven by a third person and fled in an unknown direction.

From the victim’s descriptions, the perpetrators spoke Greek and are of young age.
