Aris managed to beat AEK Athens 90-81 at home to tie the Greek Basketball League quarterfinal series 1-1. Qualification for the semifinals will be decided in a third game at home to Union.
Game 3 between AEK and Aris will be played on Monday, May 25 at 19:00. The reason the game will be played after eight days is because the Sunel Arena will host the Euroleague’s Adidas Next Generation Tournament on the days of the Euroleague Final Four.
The winner will advance to the semifinals and will face Olympiacos with a home court disadvantage.
Bryce Jones was Aris’ top scorer with 23 points, while Amin Noah added 14 points. For AEK Athens, Vassilis Charalampopoulos had a great performance with 30 points, while Greg Brown had 17. Both weren’t enough to prevent the loss.
