Qatar-based Al Araby television network was attacked in Tehran, Iran, the office said, which appears to have suffered huge damage after an Israeli missile hit.

The channel’s correspondent, Hazem Kallas, was broadcasting live when the link was abruptly cut off as the missile hit the building. In a statement, he described moments of chaos and panic: “I was reporting from inside the office when suddenly a missile hit the building. The situation is extremely dangerous.”

Ambulances arrived immediately at the scene, with authorities opening the roads to evacuate civilians and allow rescuers unhindered access.

In a statement, Al Araby TV condemned the attack, citing the dangers for journalists in war zones.

“Exposing journalistic teams to danger violates international law and the Geneva Conventions,” it said, stressing that the network would continue reporting as normal.

The strike comes at a time when the situation in the Middle East continues to escalate with Tehran receiving repeated air strikes, and according to the Iranian Health Ministry, the loss of life and injuries are in the thousands and rising.
