A boat with 69 foreigners was spotted southwest of Gavdos.
The competent authorities proceeded with the rescue of 69 foreigners in a dinghy in the sea area southwest of Gavdos, in the framework of a search and rescue operation coordinated by the Single Centre for Search and Rescue Coordination (EKSED).
According to the Coast Guard – Hellenic Coast Guard, the dinghy was spotted 27 nautical miles southwest of Gavdos by a FRONTEX drone. The competent forces were immediately mobilized, while the rescue of the occupants was carried out safely by a FRONTEX vessel.
