A special soccer event, where sports meet social contribution, is being held today, Monday, June 15, at 7:30 p.m., the Association of Maniots Everywhere “Mani” and the Olympiacos Veterans Association. This special charity match will take place at the “Pantelis Nikolaidis” Stadium in Nikaia, under the auspices of UNESCO.

The goal of this initiative is to provide practical support to vulnerable and affected families registered in the Humanity Greece Registry. For this match, however, there are no tickets, as the “admission fee” translates into donations of essential supplies, demonstrating that sports can become a force for giving and solidarity.

Specifically, those in the stadium stands are asked to contribute by collecting non-perishable foods (such as pasta, legumes, rice, and canned goods), packaged snacks (croissants, cookies, pretzels, cereal bars), as well as tomato juice or tomato paste. At the same time, personal care items (shower gel, shampoo, sanitary pads), as well as household cleaning supplies (bleach, all-purpose cleaners, and laundry detergent).

Prominent figures and legendary players who have written golden pages in the history of Greek soccer are expected to make an appearance on the field. Their participation, as noted by the event’s organizers, marks a significant moment and a major recognition for the event, while also lending even greater value and significance to the event’s purpose, extending an open invitation to the whole world to embrace this remarkable effort.
