Eleni Hatzidou spoke on camera during the show “Rendezvous on the Weekend” about the end of Breakfast@Star, expressing her sadness over the show’s permanent cancellation.

The host and singer noted that the team had loved and supported the project all these years, while revealing that the cast had been informed of the station’s decision back in May.

“I’m very sad. We poured our hearts into this show; we loved it so much… We put our hearts and souls into it; we worked very hard. I think that anyone who has watched from the very first season right up to the very last one understands the difference between then and now, the evolution—I believe it has happened…,” Eleni Hatzidou said initially.

And she added: “But we’re sad because, more broadly, there’s a general problem. What’s happening to us and our colleagues is happening across all of television. So it’s so disheartening that I don’t know where this is headed… A sadness that I think everyone feels, even those who are successful, who have had successful years, and who know for sure that they’ll continue next year as well.”.

“Our relationships are so good. They let us know a month ago; since May, we’ve known we wouldn’t be continuing, which is very important to me. We have a very good relationship. I feel nothing but gratitude for all these years,” concluded Eleni Hatzidou.
