The Cyprus Police, in cooperation with the Labor Inspectorate, is investigating the circumstances under which a 49-year-old man was seriously injured yesterday, Friday, in Nicosia. According to sigmalive, the 49-year-old is being treated at Nicosia General Hospital and is in critical condition.
More specifically, around 5:30 p.m. yesterday, in the Strovolos area, where the 49-year-old was working outside a building to repair an air conditioning compressor under circumstances that are under investigation, the compressor exploded, resulting in the 49-year-old being injured.
An ambulance transported the 49-year-old to Nicosia General Hospital, where he is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit, intubated and in critical condition.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated by the Nicosia Central Police Station and the Labor Inspection Department.
