An unspeakable tragedy occurred on Monday evening in the area of Dasaki Mesopotamia in Kastoria, where a 16-year-old boy died in a road accident with a farm vehicle.
According to information, a group of five young people – one adult and four minors – were riding in a farm car, with some of them in the back. Under circumstances that are being investigated, the vehicle veered off course and overturned.
From the rollover, the pickup allegedly crushed the passengers in the back, resulting in the fatal injury of a 16-year-old. The other four occupants were injured and taken to hospital for medical attention.
National Police forces rushed to the scene. and ambulances of the ambulance service, while the Traffic Police is conducting a preliminary investigation into the exact causes of the accident.
Initially there were reports that the driver had attempted to avoid a bear that appeared on the road, however this scenario was refuted by the police investigation, as no relevant evidence has emerged so far.
The tragic news has caused deep sadness in the local community, which is mourning the unfortunate loss of the 16-year-old.
