French President Emmanuel Macron hailed U.S. President Donald Trump’s efforts to reach an early agreement between the United States and Iran, noting the readiness of France, Britain and their allies to help ensure the safety of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz following the agreement. According to a statement issued by Eliezer, the French president during his communication with his US counterpart also stressed that the consultations between the US and Iranian sides are a unique opportunity to create a new security framework involving all parties involved and aimed at achieving lasting stability in the Middle East region. Emmanuel Macron also said that his country is ready to provide its expertise in the ensuing consultations on the Iranian nuclear issue. Finally, the French president welcomed the US president’s commitment to the independence and territorial integrity of Lebanon and stressed the need to achieve and respect the ceasefire.
