Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today he ordered the army to attack targets in the southern suburbs of Beirut, a Hezbollah stronghold, as Israel expands military operations in southern Lebanon.

“Due to the repeated violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon by the terrorist group Hezbollah and attacks against our cities and citizens, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Kats ordered the Israeli army to strike terrorist targets” in the southern suburbs of Beirut, the statement stressed.
