A 33-year-old Greek man was arrested at “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport on an arrest warrant for pornography of minors.
According to a statement by the Hellenic Police:
A 33-year-old Greek man, for whom an arrest warrant was outstanding for the offence of pornography of minors, was arrested by officers of the Security Department of the Athens Airport Police Department/G.A.D.A., in the morning hours of 29-5-2026 at the arrivals level of Athens International Airport, after his arrival on a flight from Chicago.
Specifically, the 33-year-old man in October 2023 was arrested during an investigation for possessing child pornography material in his home that depicted minors under the age of fifteen.
It is worth noting that the offender fled abroad in order to make it difficult to trace him, as he knew that he was being prosecuted for the above serious charge.
The arrested person was taken to the competent prosecuting authority.
