On a night with a celebratory character after winning the fourth Euroleague in its history, Olympiacos defeated AEK 94-77 at the Peace and Friendship Stadium and took the first step towards qualifying for the Stoiximan Basket League finals.
AEK started the game stronger, forcing Giorgos Bartzokas to call a timeout before two minutes of the game had elapsed. But then, the ‘reds’ stepped up their performance, found solutions on offense, especially with Dorsey, and closed the first quarter leading 26-19, thanks to an impressive buzzer beater by Vezenkov from downtown.
In the second quarter, Peters took the initiative for Olympiacos, who even reached +15 (42-27). However, AEK reacted with Gray and Nannali providing important solutions on offense, reducing the difference to eight points (46-38) at the end of the first half.
