The fire that broke out shortly after 16:00 today in low vegetation in the area of Kalyvia Thorikos, Attica, was partially controlled. As known by the fire brigade, the fire broke out around 16:07 and was quickly contained and there was no danger of it spreading. According to the Fire Department, the mobilization of the Fire Department was immediate and large with strong ground and air forces to move quickly to the point, while there was a continuous image of the fire via drone. Winds of 5 Beaufort were blowing in the area while, as was made known by the fire brigade, the fire burned about 25 acres of olive trees, holly, dry grasses and vines.
For its extinguishing 62 firefighters with 2 teams of hiking sections of the 1st E.M.O.D.E., 18 vehicles and 1 helicopter, while volunteer groups of the General Secretariat of Civil Protection and water-bearing local authorities assisted.
