U.S. armed forces have seized an Iran-linked oil tanker in the Indian Ocean, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported, citing three U.S. officials.
The tanker Skywave has been subject to US sanctions since March over its alleged role in transporting Iranian oil. According to the WSJ report, the Skywave was carrying more than a million barrels of oil loaded in February from Iran’s Harg Island.
Reuters news agency stresses that it is unable to verify the information reported by the Wall Street Journal.
