Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today that Israel’s “elimination” of Ali Larijani gives Iranians “the opportunity to take their fate into their own hands.”
“This morning, we eliminated Ali Larijani, the leader of a gang of thugs who actually rule Iran,” Netanyahu said in a video released by his office.
“We are shaking this regime in the hope of giving the Iranian people a chance to get rid of it,” he said, adding that “and if we persist, we will give them the chance to take their fate into their own hands.”
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Kats earlier announced the “elimination” of Ali Larijani, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, and General Golamreza Soleimani, commander of the Basij militia, in targeted attacks by the Israeli army overnight in Tehran.
