A Panama-flagged bulk cargo ship bound for Brazil has crossed the Strait of Hormuz using a route designed by Iran’s armed forces, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported today.

According to Tasnim, the ship in question was the Mdl Toofan, which had sailed from the Saudi port of Ras Al-Hair, Saudi Arabia, bound for Rio Grande.

The ship previously tried to cross the strait on May 4, but Iran’s armed forces turned it back, Tasnim reported, adding that it is the second ship since Saturday to use the course Iran planned to sail through the waterway.
