Welcoming children to the White House, Donald Trump reiterated his belief that in every case the US is winning the war with Iran.
Trump spoke as he prepared to sign the reintroduction of the Presidential Physical Fitness Test, an institution that was started during the Cold War and had changed its name under President Obama. As the proclamation involves students, children and coaches were at the White House.
After talking about sports as well as domestic policy issues, Trump spoke about developments in the Middle East. “Today the stock market reached an all-time high despite that little scuffle. I call it a scuffle because Iran doesn’t stand a chance. It never has. They know it. They tell me when I talk to them. Then they go on TV and say how well they are doing.”
Trump then spoke about Iran’s nuclear program. “These are sick people, and we’re not going to let these crazy people get a nuclear weapon. The power of a nuclear weapon is something I don’t even want to talk about. But it’s not going to happen. And we have them beat by a landslide.”
