At least three people were killed today by an Israeli strike on Gaza, according to Palestinian medical sources.

The strike occurred in a crowded area of Gaza City, near where local police were guarding a bank, eyewitnesses and doctors said. The Palestinian enclave’s interior ministry said two policemen were killed and two others were wounded. Earlier, Reuters reported that Israel was stepping up its attacks on the Hamas-controlled Gaza police, which the group is using to restore its authority in areas it controls.

The Israeli army confirmed it had launched a strike at the site, but claimed it was targeting Hamas members.

The violence in Gaza continues despite the October 2025 ceasefire agreement, with Israel launching attacks almost daily. At least 790 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire came into effect, according to local medical sources. Israel says four of its soldiers have been killed by militants.

Israel and Hamas have accused each other of ceasefire violations.
