US President Donald Trump deemed it “likely” that talks with Iran will resume in the coming days, in an exchange of text messages today with a New York Post reporter.
“It’s possible! President Donald Trump,” he wrote in response to a tabloid reporter who asked him about the possibility of talks within the next 36 to 72 hours,”
At the same time, a source told Reuters that Trump has not set a timetable for extending the ceasefire with Iran.
The US president announced yesterday (Tuesday) that he was extending the ceasefire to allow for negotiations with Tehran, without giving a new deadline.
