His seven children, among others, were killed by the 31-year-old gunman in the Louisiana massacre. More specifically, Shamar Elkins forced his way into 3 homes in Shreveport yesterday Sunday and started shooting, fatally wounding 8 children. The shooting attack also injured a 13-year-old boy and two adult women.

The coroner, speaking about one of the deadliest shooting attacks in Louisiana, explained that the victims were identified as follows: Jayla Elkins, 3; Sheila Elkins, 5; Kayla Pugh, 6; Layla Pugh, 7; Markaydon Pugh, 10; Sariahh Snow, 11; Khedarrion Snow, 6; and Braylon Snow, 5.

The 31-year-old gunman shot his seven children and one of his nieces and nephews. All aged between 3 and 11 years old.

The 13-year-old, who was only wounded, escaped the shooting because he jumped off the roof of the house at the time of the shooting.

Although he has a few fractures, he is expected to recover.

In regards to the two women, one was his wife and mother of his children. The woman sustained serious gunshot wounds and is being treated in a critical condition.

The second woman who was wounded is the mother of the eighth child who was killed.

Elkins was arrested in 2019 on gun charges, according to a police report, after a man in a car threatened him with a gun.

Elkins then fired five shots at the vehicle.

The shooter served in the Louisiana National Guard for seven years until August 2020, according to the U.S. Army. He had not participated in a deployment.

The shooter was killed by police gunfire during a stolen car chase.
