US President Donald Trump said yesterday (Friday) that an examination of government records relating to UFOs had unearthed “interesting” documents, adding that the first of them would be made public very soon.
“We have found many, many interesting documents, I must say, and the first releases will begin very, very soon so that you too can find out if these phenomena are real,” Trump told supporters during an event hosted by the conservative organization Turning Point USA.
In February, Trump had ordered US agencies to begin releasing government records relating to unidentified flying objects (UFOs) and the possibility of extraterrestrial life, citing intense public interest in the issue.
Trump ordered the review of government records on UFOs after he accused Barack Obama of inappropriately disclosing classified information when the 44th US president had mentioned in a podcast that aliens existed.
