A gang of at least five thugs carried out a sensational robbery at a bank branch in a central area of Naples yesterday, Thursday.
The members of the gang wore Hollywood actor masks and entered the bank through a hole in the floor through the drains. They held about 25 customers hostage and meanwhile emptied the safety deposit boxes.
Carabinets, police and firefighters arrived immediately at the scene after a call from a passerby and began negotiating with the thugs. After a short time, the hostages were released but by the time officers were able to enter the bank, the robbers had disappeared, always through the drains.
Six customers held hostage were taken to hospital with symptoms of shock and were discharged after about two hours.
