The three minors who last Monday night caused an explosion with butane gas, alcohol and dynamite in the courtyard of a school in Heraklion were released after their apology. According to their lawyers, the minors were drawn to a video they watched on social media and wanted to re-enact it, without having any idea until the time of the explosion what could have happened.
“Today we could be at funerals, not at the coroner’s office. They are shocked and the three children did not expect this and have apologised,” said one of the defence lawyers Minos Apostolakis. The three minors, who experienced terror, as the lawyer Eleni Samaritaki said, felt relieved after the decision to release them. As for their act, she reiterated that it was a momentary impulse and an unfortunate incident, which they did not realize what consequences it could bring.
