US President Donald Trump told ABC television network reporter Jonathan Karl yesterday (Tuesday) that he is not considering extending the ceasefire with Iran.
Trump does not believe an extension will be necessary, Karl wrote in a post on X.
“I think you’re going to watch a terrific next two days,” the US president said. “I really do.”
According to Karl, Trump hinted that the war with Iran could be ended either through a negotiated solution or through military action to eliminate Iran’s capabilities.
“It could end either way, but I think an agreement is better because then they can rebuild. They really have a different status now. No matter what, we’ve eliminated the extremists. They are gone, they are no longer with us,” the US President said.
In addition, Trump estimated that “if I wasn’t president, the world would be in pieces,” Carl said in his post.
The Republican also commented on the defeat of Hungary’s nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in the recent parliamentary elections, saying he was not worried and noting that he likes opposition leader and election winner Peter Magyar.
“I think the new guy will do a good job, he’s a good man,” he commented, noting that he did not know if it would change the outcome if instead of Vice President J.D. Vance he went to Hungary himself to support Orban.
