An oil pipeline near the Russian port of Primorsk, in the Baltic Sea on the border with Finland, was damaged after a Ukrainian drone attack, Russian authorities said this morning.

“Debris (drones shot down) damaged part of the oil pipeline near the port of Primorsk,” Leningrad Region Governor Aleksandr Drozdeko wrote on Telegram, adding that the pipeline has been closed and the fire is safely extinguishing itself.

Russian anti-aircraft defenses destroyed 19 drones and there were no casualties from the attack, Russian authorities said.

The port of Primorsk is located between the Finnish border and St Petersburg. In March another Ukrainian drone strike caused a fire at a fuel tank, with Kiev saying it targeted an oil terminal.

In the last month Ukraine has stepped up its attacks on Russian ports in the Baltic.
