Russian strategic missile forces conducted drills in Siberia that included camouflaged movements of Yars intercontinental ballistic missiles, which are capable of carrying nuclear warheads, the Defense Ministry said today.
Squads participated in a range of activities that included the use of camouflage and other means to conceal land-based missile movements in the field, the ministry said.
The drills also included exercises in responding to mock enemy attacks and countering air assault weapons. The department did not report any missile launches.
Russia regularly conducts drills of its strategic nuclear forces to test their combat readiness and send warning signals to the West at a time of high tension with its NATO rivals over the war in Ukraine.
