A post on the national anniversary of 25 March was made on platform X by the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, underlining the importance of the day for the historical memory and the timeless imprint of Greece.
In his post on 25 March, accompanied by a video of the Acropolis, European Council President Antonio Costa noted that “today we celebrate Greece’s Independence Day, an opportunity to honour the history and indomitable spirit of the country.”
In the same message he quotes the phrase “Freedom and Democracy – Freedom and Democracy”, and closes with greetings in Greek, writing: “Happy birthday to all Greeks!”
The European Council also sent out a similar message via Instagram, with a special video for the day and the wish “Happy Birthday to Greece”, joining in the celebration of the national anniversary.
