Christina Korai spoke to Buongiorno’s camera about toxicity on television and this year’s news season, on the occasion of the Athens Alitheia Forum.
The journalist argued that toxicity still exists in public discourse, even in times of serious international events. “A lot of toxicity, we also saw it with the force, the military force that the government sent to Cyprus. Those who disagree say it shouldn’t go, but that’s an opinion,” he said.
Commenting on this year’s television season in the media sector, Christina Korai said that news is always demanding. “The news is always full. I don’t want to hear ‘oh, now you have a lot of work’. After the crisis there hasn’t been a time when I haven’t been busy,” she noted.
At the same time, he expressed the view that even entertainment shows can deal with current affairs issues. “I think entertainment shows should also discuss everything if they want to discuss it. I don’t accept that some people have the infallibility of the Pope. I’m interested in a news story how Faye (Skorda) will say it, how the rest of the panel will say it. It’s important.”
It’s important.
