Today, Saturday, Michalis Kefalogiannis welcomed Vana Barba on his show. Their main topic of discussion was menopause and everything it causes in a woman’s life, with the actress confessing that she faced great difficulties during that period.
“Menopause is scary because it means a cessation of life. I didn’t have the necessary knowledge. After the child grew up, I started at 48-50 to see my life change. I was falling. It started physically with a terrible sweating, which was very, very disturbing. I began to have no appetite for anything, meaning I didn’t want to create, I didn’t want to have relationships. It’s torture really,” Vanna Barba said.
“This lasted seven years. Then, I was lucky enough to meet an excellent endocrinologist, you will allow me to say his name, Mr Spyros Pavlou. Spyros took me by the hand and said “don’t be afraid”. I went to him and said “am I going to get cancer?”, the first thing. Fears, thousands of fears. Long story short, he guided me, he helped me and in short I would like to say to all the women that it changed my life. It changed the quality of my life,” she openly confessed.
“I was not prepared for the weight, nor for the depression, nor for the lack of eroticism. […] It is unfair for the woman in her 50s and 55s to feel ‘pause-life’ even in love life. […] Now I have found myself again and I started to love myself more,” Vana Barba admitted to the SKAI camera.
